NIGHTMARES.Nowadays I find my dreams tormenting me at midnight, tunnelling through my mind and strangling me during the day. They crawl under my skin and rip me open until I am forced to call you at all times of the day and night to check that you are still breathing. You understand my irrational fear and when we are safe inside each other you lick my wounds, but when you leave I drift into a troubled sleep where you are snatched away from me and I awake with blood on my hands. In my dreams we often soar but it is only you who crashes and burns, and I am left a smashed mirror. Sometimes your body does not get broken but I will turn and you have diNIGHTMARES.
